| Flash your Public Service Card at the clinic |
| |
Submitting tedious medical
claims may now be a thing
of the past, thanks to the
new billing arrangement by
the Accountant-General’s
Department (AGD).
When visiting private clinics, public officers
only need to show their Public Service Card
and foot their share of the bill.
The clinics participating in the scheme will then automatically
claim the government-subsidised portion of the medical
bill on the officer’s behalf, via a new system, MBS@Gov.
Previously, public officers had to pay the entire bill
before submitting their medical claims to obtain the government
subsidy. This new arrangement makes it more convenient
for public officers to visit private clinics of their
choice,
and also reduces the processing of medical claims and
boosts efficiency at CSS-Vital.org.
MBS@Gov is currently being piloted at more
than 100 clinics islandwide. Participating
clinics prominently display the blue
MBS@Gov sticker at the entrance. A list of
participating clinics is also available from
the PaC@Gov website at www.pac.gov.sg.
The new arrangement is expected to be
fully rolled out to all clinics in Singapore
soon.
