Ever wondered about your entitlements under your medical benefit scheme? Or whether you’ll get a higher salary once you’ve obtained a higher academic qualification? How about the criteria for promotion? And what about tips on how to manage the performance of your staff?

You’ve heard the saying that goes: Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Now you can fish for the answers yourself 24/7 at the new human resource (HR) portal!

Developed by the Public Service Division (PSD), the HR Portal is your one-stop HR information and services centre.

The objectives of the portal are twofold: to create a ready resource pool for civil servants to tap into for their HR information needs, as well as to develop a vibrant HR community for networking and sharing knowledge.

There are six exciting segments to explore:
HR@Gov: Learn about Civil Service HR policies and guidelines here.
FISH: (eFficient RetrIeval of Shared Know-How): Explore our very own HR FAQ database to find ready answers to commonly asked HR questions.
Resource Centre: Download HR brochures and write-ups and circulars on best practices. Browse through useful links to other HRrelated communities.
HR Community: Check out the HR calendar for happenings in the HR scene. Participate in discussions on the latest HR issues in the HR forum.
About Us: Learn about HR in the Civil Service and PSD’s role in shaping personnel policies.
HR e-Services: Find links to all of PSD’s HR eservices here.

The HR Portal at http://intranet.psd.gov.sg/index.html will be launched on 6 June 2005. Remember to visit the portal soon!
