The Economy Drive (ED) has enabled the Singapore
Police Force (SPF) to reap substantial savings that
have exceeded the targets set by the Ministry of
Home Affairs. Find out what SPF did right to achieve

With the introduction of the Economy Drive (ED)
across the Civil Service on 9 May 2003, the Singapore
Police Force (SPF) began implementing ED initiatives
across all its departments.
Its Police Budget and Establishment Committee, headed
by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, provides leadership,
drives the implementation process, establishes the
policies and monitors the progress of the initiatives.
SPF’s ED initiatives come under a framework that
encapsulates its commitment to implementing and
sustaining ED initiatives in the long run. In the
