On 1 September 2003, the Immigration and Checkpoints
Authority (ICA) launched iC Online. This online
portal allows the public to submit their National
Registration Identity Card (NRIC) application
in real time from the convenience of their home.
The system was launched by Senior Minister of State,
Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee, on 29 August 2003.
This e-service can
be accessed through ICA’s website at www.ica.gov.sg as well as the eCitizen portal at www.ecitizen.gov.sg.
Eligibility
With 24-hour availability, iC Online gives the
following categories of NRIC holders added flexibility
and convenience in submitting their applications:
Singapore
Citizens and Permanent Residents who need
to re-register for their NRIC because they
have reached the age of 30 and are holding
an NRIC issued more than 10 years ago. They
will be notified by post to re-register.
All
NRIC holders who wish to apply for a replacement
due to damage or a change in their particulars
or photograph.
Benefits
Guests
were introduced to iC Online at the
launch on 29 August 2003.
-
By
applying via iC Online, NRIC applicants only need
to attach a digital image of themselves and pay
by credit card (MasterCard or Visa).
Applicants can also check the status of their application
via an online enquiry system. The enquiry system
in iC Online will advise applicants of the collection
date of their NRIC, and the necessary documents to produce on the day of collection.
New security features
As part of our regular review and continual efforts to leverage on technology,

have been added:

engraved in it
the

Those
who apply for NRICs from 1 September 2003 onwards
will be issued NRICs
with the new security features.
