New course for managers

In today’s fast-changing environment, the Public Service faces increasing public scrutiny, a greater call for public involvement, and rising public expectations for enhanced efficiency, quality, speed and responsiveness. In the light of all these factors, the Civil Service College has developed a new programme to address these issues and equip managers to play an effective role in the Public Service.

Today, managers have to understand the unique environment in the Public Service and the strategic forces that shape it.

From there, they need to help their staff distinguish between what they have traditionally been doing and what else needs to be done.

A manager’s responsibility has grown from just planning, organising, leading and controlling people to leading people, connecting policy implications at work and continually improving the performance of the system.

If you want to learn more about how to be an effective manager, check out details of the Public Service Management Development Programme below, or contact Noor Azila at 6874 1796 or send an email to noor_azila_md_arif@cscollege.gov.sg.
