| Double
honours for our Public Service |
| |
Singapore is proud
to be a recipient of the inaugural United Nations
(UN) Public Service Awards for 2002. We were the
only one among the 193 UN member states to receive
two awards.
The awards ceremony
was held on 23 June 2003 (New York time) at the UN
Headquarters in New York. The Singapore Permanent
Representative to the United Nations, Mr Kishore
Mahbubani, received the awards on behalf of Singapore.
There are three award categories for public sector organisations: Improvement
of Public Service Results, Improvement of the Quality of Public Service Processes,
and Innovation in the Public Service.
Singapore received awards in two categories: The Legal Policy Division of the
Ministry of Law distinguished itself in the Improvement of the Quality of Public
Service Processes category, and the Infocomm Development Authority won the
award in the Improvement of Public Service Results category. |
