Many Agencies, One Government

I ntegrated e-services present exciting opportunities for cross-agency collaborations and networking. A critical success factor of integrated e-services delivery is support from agencies in leading and participating in such projects.

For example, the National Council of Social Services spearheaded the work on the Online Donation Portal. It worked with the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the Central Provident Fund Board and more than 100 Institutes of Public Character to successfully launch the portal in October 2002. The portal provides a single online service for the public to donate to any of the charities online through credit card or by cashing their New Singapore Shares/Economic Restructuring Shares.

To encourage the initiation and implementation of integrated e-services, MOF provides development funding and recurrent funding (if necessary) for the initial years of delivering the e-services. To ensure the long-term viability of the integrated e-services, the participating agencies will need to explore various cost-effective solutions and develop their own business models.

Excelling in the area of integrated e-services delivery is crucial for the Singapore Public Service to fully realise its vision of “Many Agencies, One Government” and to maintain Singapore’s leading position in e-government. The PS Online Team will continue to work closely with government agencies towards this end.
