Bones in the making

Their innovation is being tested at the National University Hospital.
This project explores how engineering methods and machines can be applied to produce bio-compatible materials for use in healthcare. The team worked with researchers from Nanyang Technological University to successfully develop artificial bone material.

This material can be used to replace bones that have been affected by cancer, as well as for fracture fixation and spine fusion. It can even be made into tooth roots to hold false teeth in position.
