| Smart
way to save water |
| |
Given that the current
water capacity of toilet water tanks is very high,
Mr Micheal Li suggested that the Ministry of Environment
and the Public Utilities Board (PUB) consider placing
weights in water cisterns to help conserve water.
By placing two filled 330 cc bottles of water in
a cistern, the water capacity will be reduced effectively.
Yet normal flushing can still take place, he explained.
“The initial savings in water may not seem like
very much, just a small amount. Yet in the long
run, we save a lot of water and money. At the end
of the day, I want people to treat water conservation
seriously,” he said.
Recognising the usefulness of Mr Li’s suggestion,
the PUB has been advising the public on the proper
use of water bottles as water displacement devices
in recent mobile exhibitions. Some hotels have
also implemented this practice. |
