Soon
after the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) conducted
a Learning Day workshop on photography in September
2001, the Photography Learning Circle (LC) was
formed to further promote, improve and sustain
staffs’ interest in learning phototaking.
Since then, numerous outings have been organised
and critique sessions have been conducted to sharpen
the skills of the group.
With the keen support and encouragement of the
MOM Excel Committee and the People Innovation Enterprise
(now known as the People Matters Department), the
LC decided to organise an exhibition to display
their work.
The three-day exhibition was held at MOM from 31
July to 2 August 2002. The event was graced by
our Permanent Secretary, Ms Yong Ying-I. More than
100 photographs taken by the LC members were exhibited.
Soon after the exhibition, the LC saw an increase
in membership. More outdoor shooting sessions will
be planned in 2003 for enthusiastic staff.
The MOM Photography LC is pleased to welcome those
who are keen to learn more about how to take good
photographs to join our outings. They are a good
opportunity for shutterbugs to pick up some useful
tips from experienced enthusiasts as well as to
broaden their circle of friends from other ministries.
