| Continual change can
transform the public
sector into a first-class
Public Service. |

“Change”. This is the keyword of PS21.
Our aspiration is for the Public Service to continuously
welcome change, anticipate change and be able
to execute change effectively and efficiently.
And indeed, we as a Public Service have gone through
many changes over the years.
We present you another change next month. Change
in the look and feel, as well as the content of
Challenge magazine — the only magazine
that reaches out to all 120,000 public officers.
We will still strive to bring you the best PS21-related
stories, and the latest information you can use.
But we also want to be the choice public sector
magazine that you will pick up and read.
We will regularly feature extraordinary public
officers and interviews with Public Service leaders
in our “Personalities” column.
We also bring to you a whole new column —
“At the Watercooler” — where you can share
your views on specific PS21 issues.
Other columns include “Network News” that features
the efforts of different agencies and how they
contribute towards specific Public Service outcomes.
A new “Systems Watch” column will give you tips
on Economy Drive and Organisational Excellence,
updates on new IT technologies/applications, and
so on.
There are many other changes. We hope all these
changes are changes for the better and would help
improve public officers’ understanding of PS21
and what we can do to become a first-class Public
Service.
We welcome your suggestions on how to make Challenge
even better. Send us your suggestions and ideas
now, and also after we have rolled out the changes
in the next edition.
We want to hear from you!
